I'm sure you can see the problem. U.S. movies are sooo bad -- and have been for decades -- because the form attracts so many pinheads. Particularly on the screen"writing" side, but also(see Ovie) on the production side. Final Draft 7.0(and all previous versions) is part of that mountain of [****] which has attracted the screen"writing" flies for years. I'm talking about Mount Fake -- you know: Sid/Syd Field, Robert McKee, coast-to-coast screen"writing" classes, classes in movie bizness, movie plodding, screen"writers" singles networks, ad nauseum. Sadly -- because of the medium's primary post in our culture, and because of its glorious U.S. past --, it seems to especially appeal to loners who know nothing of the world yet have no sensibility in the cave of their loneliness. No one, of course, who had ambitions to be a real writer, would go anywhere near a piece of software dreck like this. What true creator, in any field, would let a company such as Final Draft Inc. dictate such things as spacing, structure, font. No kind. So why the popularity of this product? Because the screen"writing" wad in the land of the free are made up of weenies who couldn't put together an elegant sentence if their lives depended on it. The true job of a screenwriter is to imagine a film frame-by-frame, then recreate the experience of watching it on a blank page. As Brother Malcolm once said: "By any means necessary." Putting on a straightjacket such as Final Draft 7.0 must feel real comfortable for those who could never hack it in a free writing form.

But Final Draft and the entirety of Mount Fake serves a purpose far beyond the stroking of dorks, a sinister purpose. It embraces and empowers the structure of the U.S. movie industry and the "judgements" made by it, judgements invariably based on the suffocation of true appreciation and discernment, in order to keep power in the hands of the psychotically ambitious. They love the wad salivating to get in, for it lowers all quality standards. (In the same way Nike loves paying 14-year-old Chinese girls 50 cents per day.) The more standardized the "creative" input -- in other words, the garbage which comes out the other end of Final Draft -- the more decisions are based on cronyism, safety, and personality ticks. (Such as the ultimate Indy tick, Quentin Tarantino.)

For all who are serious: get this thing off your hard drive, open up the clean white page of MS Word, and go your own way. Every great film ever made -- in spite of what that moron Robert McKee says -- has it's own unique, private structure. So should all screenplays.
1 stars (Lame) - Not very helpfull software. I own version 7 and installed it on 2 cpus but had to clean out one of them and tried to reinstall it but it wouldn't allow it. i call it stalinism. they are pathetic for a simple writing software. customer support is 2$ a minute!.
Don' buy this software.5 stars (Simple, intuitive) - 30 seconds after loading the program on my computer, I was writing a script. You don't need to be David E. Kelly to figure out how to write the script format you want.
